GridWit is a free daily trivia game that combines knowledge with strategic confidence wagering. Every day at midnight UTC, a new 3x3 game board appears with three trivia categories and three difficulty levels (9 questions total). Before answering each question, you set a confidence wager (1x to 3x). Correct answers earn points multiplied by your wager; wrong answers lose those points. Your score can go negative. The strategic element means a careful player can outscore a trivia expert who over-bets.

How do you play GridWit?

Each day a new 3x3 board appears with three trivia categories across three difficulty levels. Pick a cell, set your confidence wager (1x, 2x, or 3x), then answer the question. Correct answers earn points times your wager; wrong answers lose that amount. Complete all nine cells to get your daily score, then compare on the leaderboard.

Is GridWit free to play?

Yes, GridWit is completely free to play. Every player gets the daily board, leaderboards, streaks, achievements, group play, tournaments, and the full game experience at no cost. GridWit Pro ($4.99/month or $39.99/year) adds optional extras like archive boards, streak freezes, category analytics, Expert Mode, and unlimited practice rounds.

What makes GridWit different from other trivia games?

GridWit's confidence wagering system is what sets it apart. Unlike traditional trivia where you simply answer questions for fixed points, GridWit requires strategic thinking — you must decide how much to risk before seeing each question. This combines the thrill of Jeopardy-style wagering with the daily-puzzle habit of games like Wordle and Connections. The result is a game where knowledge and strategy both matter.

How much does GridWit Pro cost?

GridWit Pro costs $4.99 per month or $39.99 per year (a 33% savings). Pro includes archive boards (play any past board), streak freezes (protect your streak when you miss a day), category analytics (see your strengths and weaknesses), Expert Mode (harder questions, higher stakes), and unlimited practice rounds.

When does the daily board reset?

A new GridWit board appears every day at midnight UTC. All players worldwide get the same board on the same day, making scores directly comparable on the leaderboard.

Can I play GridWit with friends?

Yes. GridWit offers multiple social features: Friends Leaderboard (add friends and compare daily scores), Group Play (create a room and play the same board simultaneously with real-time progress), Challenge (send a direct head-to-head comparison link), and Tournaments (multi-day competitive events).

What trivia categories does GridWit cover?

GridWit covers a wide range of categories including Science, History, Geography, Entertainment, Sports, Literature, Technology, Art, Music, Food, Nature, and more. Each daily board features three categories selected to provide variety. Pro users can set category preferences to influence future board generation.

Is GridWit like Wordle or Connections?

GridWit shares the daily-puzzle format with Wordle and Connections (one puzzle per day, same for everyone, shareable results). However, GridWit is a trivia game with a strategic wagering mechanic rather than a word or pattern game. It takes about 3-5 minutes to complete, similar to those games.

How does the confidence wagering system work?

Before each question, you choose a wager multiplier: 1x (safe — gain or lose base points), 2x (moderate — double the stakes), or 3x (high risk — triple the stakes). If you answer correctly, you earn base points times your wager. If wrong, you lose that same amount. This means a player who knows their strengths and wagers wisely can outscore someone who knows more trivia but wagers poorly.
